Hey, I’m Meagan!
Welcome! My name is Meagan, owner of Burkhart Family Puppies, a family operated in-home
breeder in Northwest Iowa. My love for Aussies started 10 years ago with my first Toy Aussie,
Maya. I instantly fell in love with the breed and haven’t looked back. Their loyalty, athleticism,
intelligence and companionship goes unmatched.
Our pups are all born here on our 10 acre farm where they not only are raised in-home, but have plenty of space to run and play. Some of our adult dogs reside here with us, while others are placed in handpicked guardian homes where they are cherished family members. I consider myself lucky and am grateful to be able to do what I love on a daily basis. It’s an added bonus that my family gets to be a part of the process from beginning to end. They help me ensure all the puppies we raise get the love and attention they need, and are helpful in preparing them for their next steps in life with their new families.

About Our Program
We take pride in raising high quality healthy puppies, which is why our parent dogs are health
tested, we meticulously plan litters in advance, puppies are raised on an advanced service dog
curriculum, and more. These dogs are just as much a part of the family as the rest of us and we
want the same for you. Their health and happiness for a lifetime is our top priority!
Our puppies all start on a special puppy curriculum at just 3 days old and are desensitized to
various scents, sounds, touches and obstacles. This curriculum is designed by Jeanette Forrey
to ensure each puppy is given the tools and opportunity to excel in their life ahead. Each pup
also goes home with a foundation for potty training, crate training, basic obedience and leash
training.
Puppies are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and receive a carefully curated Go Home
Bag for each individual puppy to make their transition to their new home easier! All puppies
come with a discount code for an online puppy specific training program with ‘My Loyal Hound’.
