THE AUSTRALIAN MOUNTAIN DOODLE
The Australian Mountain Doodle is a thoughtfully designed blend of easygoing temperament,
adventurous spirit, and allergy-friendly coat. Our vision for the Australian Mountain Doodle was
to create a calmer, more balanced alternative to the Aussiedoodle while bringing out the very
best of all three breeds. By combining the intelligence, athleticism, and eagerness to please
from the Australian Shepherd with the gentle, affectionate, and laid-back nature of the Bernese
Mountain Dog and the low-shedding coat traits of the Poodle, we aim to create the perfect
family dog!
Australian Mountain Doodles are highly intelligent and eager to please, making them very
trainable. Training should be positive and consistent, using rewards, patience, and gentle
firmness. Basic training should begin as soon as your puppy comes home.
Australian Mountain Doodles are social, playful dogs that enjoy regular walks and exercise.
They thrive with both physical activity and mental stimulation, which helps prevent boredom and
unwanted behaviors. With a typically medium energy level, they are well suited for active
families as well as those who enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle. Adaptable and versatile, they do
well in a variety of living situations as long as their physical and emotional needs are met.
Australian Mountain Doodles may have straight, wavy, or curly coats depending on generation
genetics. Their coats require regular brushing when grown out and are relatively easy to
maintain when kept trimmed. Unlike double-coated breeds, the Australian Mountain Doodle’s
coat can be shaved without causing damage. We recommend daily brushing and professional
grooming every 6–8 weeks to prevent tangles and matting.
Our Australian Mountain Doodles come in a variety of stunning colors and patterns, including
Tricolor and Merle. We primarily focus on Chocolate and Blue Merle, as well as Chocolate and
Black Tri. While temperament is our number one priority, we strive to produce puppies with
those big blue eyes everyone loves about the Australian Shepherd. On occasion, we have
puppies with no tan points.
